The roosters are having the The glory plumage the first time with the sexual maturity at the age of 3. years. The mating season is between beginning of April and end of June. During this time you can see the cocks turning the wheel. After this the moult starts and they will lose all the wheel feathers within a few days. Then it takes 6 to 7 month until they are grown up again.
